2. Mont Saint-Michel
We see Mont Saint-Michel, taken via drone for a travel photography competition. The beautiful monastery is surrounded by water, such that through high tide it remains isolated from the mainland. Because of this, the place was regarded as a stronghold for centuries.
The fortress was built at 708 AD. Having originated as a prophet vision to the Bishop Aubert of Avranches. Once armed with this vision, he set out to create the monastery. As time passes, the place became one of the most important destinations for nomadic tourists. The place is still a popular tourist destination, but not so important for worldly travelers.
