5. Primal fear
If someone commits murder while being “possessed” by another personality, is he really guilty? This is the question posed by this film, in which a young altar boy (Edward Norton) is accused of having murdered an archbishop. His lawyer (Richard Gere) will use multiple personality disorder as the main defense and will seek a pardon.
Primal fear raises ethical questions that spark controversy over good and evil, reason and justice. It is both a story of crime and questioning that mental health should not be relegated to the background.
