5. Shining: Shelley Duvall had it rough.
Director Stanley Kubrick is known for being a perfectionist, and during the filming of this film, he insisted on recording certain scenes in several takes, so much so that it caused a nervous breakdown in Shelley Duvall. The famous “bat scene” was shot 127 times. The filming was so intense that the actress ended up almost dehydrated because of all her crying and exhaustion. Even Jack Nicholson admitted that it was the most difficult job he had ever known.
