9. The Chronicles of Narnia (scheduled for release in 2023)
The famous series of novels by K.S. Lewis was already the subject of a Hollywood adaptation in 2005. The first film was well-received by critics and audiences alike, but two extremely disappointing sequels and a drop in the box office caused the franchise to lose interest. And the planned fourth film was eventually canceled.
In 2018, Netflix acquired the rights to the franchise and announced a reboot as movies and TV shows at the same time.
Netflix’s plans included film adaptations of K.S. Lewis, which have not yet been made into films. The first part of the large-scale project should be the adaptation of The Silver Chair. However, this ambitious project seems to have been shelved, and only an estimated release date is known about it.
