8. Karen Gillan in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Karen Gillan is known for playing a Doctor Who companion named Amy Pond. Her long red hair was her signature appearance, but she shaved her head for the role of Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy. She did not actually think she was going to get it but shaved her head before she even got the part, as she thought it would help her get the role. And it certainly did. She was very casual about showing her bald head by simply taking her wig off at Comic-Con while she was on board.
